Disney reorganizes park operations, picks Weiss as chief

— Walt Disney Company will reorganize its park operations under a new executive. Company officials say Al Weiss has been named to the new position -- president of World Operations. Weiss is currently president of Walt Disney World and will hold that title until a successor is named. The promotion is part of a new reorganization plan that company officials say will streamline decision-making for Disney resorts. The Orlando Sentinel says that Weiss and six others on a new executive committee will blend business functions from the parks into the Parks and Resorts Division.
